Pictured here is a "roundabout". They don't have intersections here. It's really cool, you can completely reverse your direction without waiting through lights etc. The only tricky part for us to remember is that we have to "give way" to the person on our right before entering the roundabout.

If I'm not mistaken, that's the roundabout where The Strand, Quay St., George St., and Kakahoroa Dr. all meet.
Mikey your sense of direction leave us speechless
Mikey, Come clean, how did you know the particulars of an insignificant roundabout in Whatakane?
Ok.
Marc, remember on our Europe trip, in Copenhagen, when I helped that elderly couple sort out their street map so that they could find their way back to the center of town? Well, they happen to have been from New Zealand--from Whatakane, in fact. After they found their bearings, they took the time to comment on how the streets surrounding the small park we were in reminded them of the roundabouts back home, and of one roundabout in particular. Well, as chance would have it, what's been locked into that steel cage of a memory found an outlet twenty three years later.
Ok, not really.
Google Earth.
